Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice is the nominated charity for the Byronwood Parent's Group for 2012/13.
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice offers care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy, both in their own homes and at our hospice in Sheffield.
It costs £3 million every year to offer this support. With no statutory government funding, without the help of our supporters we simply couldn’t help all the children that we do.
We want to raise as much money as we can for them in the coming year, but we can't do it without your help!
During the year we will be holding events and we hope you ALL get involved.
The most precious the you can donate is your time... so please help us, help them!
Find out how valuable the hospice is to the families that they support.

Our vision for Byron Wood is to…”celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity because we view it as a positive learning energy.”
This is one of the reasons we have become involved with an innovative project called HoLA (Home Language Accreditation). One of the aims of the project is to develop and strengthen the relationships between complementary language schools and mainstream schools. The other aim is to raise the educational attainment of bilingual pupils by supporting them to gain a national accreditation in their home language.
Byron Wood is the second primary school along with Springfield working with HoLA to provide pupils this unique opportunity to take exams in their home language.
Asha Noor a Year 6 pupil has already taken an Assett exam in her home language of Somali, the equivalent to an intermediate pass at GCSE level. Byron Wood staff, Asha and her family were invited to the Town Hall on 19th January to the launch of HoLA where the Paul Hamplyn Trust, who fund the HoLA project were present.
More information can be found here! or by visiting the Languages Sheffield website.
